It’s amazing to me how quickly the term “marketing” lost its way, but completely understandable how it happened.
Wouldn’t it be lovely if there was just a pretty checklist to follow? An easy shortcut to avoid facing ourselves in the mirror. Easy action steps any business could complete to come out on top. Check, check, check.
The problem is if everyone is following the same checklist–and now using AI modeling to follow the checklist–the uniqueness that makes sure all of our businesses resonate blurs and what makes you special starts to look a lot like everyone else.
Still, looking like everyone else is a lot easier than coming to terms with defining who you ACTUALLY are.
I am so honored to be able to work with companies the way we do at MPath. We call it strategic communications, but it really comes down to marketing the way it was meant to be used–defining how we meet the market and approach our audiences as ourselves.
It’s a bit of business psychology mixed in with experience, but it comes down to really listening, hearing and understanding what makes your business unique. Then, we work WITH you to develop a plan of attack to connect your authentic being with your audience, so they get to know you on a real, genuine level and connect with you the way humans are meant to. Not as a result of an algorithm telling both you and your audience who you are meant to be.
The results have been clear.
We can’t force square pegs into round holes unless we shrink ourselves to fit. And absolutely no one should be doing that.
